First Impressions

Appearance
Black hair with streaked with white, broad, toned and athletic in build. Light blue eyes, with his left eye having a prominent scar through it, old but somehow never fully faded. A bit scruffy but generally well-groomed, he does his best for being living alone as a wild man.Fashion

He moves with the precision and grace of a hunter and duelist, who's spent decades living and fighting alone, and is good at it. World-weary, acts older than he seems. Generally friendly enough, but not the most sociable, can come across as stiff before he warms up to you. He tries to be distant, and sometimes still is, but generally finds himself caring for people deeply and easily. Surprisingly charismatic, with a certain gruff charm, a dry sense of humor. Can kind of be a dork, and he doesn't mind laughing at himself. Soft and very protective of anyone younger than him. Incredibly evasive when it comes to discussing personal matters, and he almost gets away with making it seem like he isn't hiding anything. He'll tell you that he likes playing up being a mysterious stranger, which he actually kind of does.Under the surface: Carries himself like the last soldier in a hundred-year-war bearing a burden too heavy to speak of. Lies easily and readily even as he hates how much he does it. Lonely and miserable and often terribly angry with nowhere for that anger to go but at himself.

In short: A mess, and while he's learned to perform in person he would have no such protection on his mind. A constant storm of self-loathing hidden behind a a dozen mile-high walls and hundreds and hundreds of masks. Desperate, lonely, and so very, very tired, with his anger at the world and the misery of his existence rivalled only his anger at himself. Oscillates rapidly between believing life has meaning and people are worth fighting for and believing that the only meaning to his existence is to end it. He tries his best, and somewhere in there, buried deep, there is an earnest heart who wants to connect with and protect those around him, but he's long-ago accepted that he will never be forgiven for the things he has to do. He cares so deeply and genuinely for the people around him. And still, in the end, he will kill every last one.He also lies a lot, like, all the time. He's not that good at it, a good performer but the lies themselves can often have holes poked in them without too much effort. He genuinely, empathetically hates that he does it, but will continue to do it anyway.
